Our client, an industry leader, is looking for a Director of Supply Chain Management to join their staff. The goal of this position is to obtain the most cost effective international and domestic arrangements for products using market research, negotiation, supplier selection and supplier performance monitoring. This is a hands-on leadership opportunity.
Responsibilities
for the position include:
· Develop an understanding of the product offerings available, technological developments, and general pricing trends of the market. · Enter negotiation with appropriate suppliers to develop worldwide and domestic agreements on pricing, service, and quality levels to be provided. · Organize negotiations to include a clear objective, a complete bid package and quotes from available suppliers. · Finalize terms and conditions offered by each supplier and perform value analysis of alternatives for use in the final selection process. · Review and evaluate supplier performance in terms of price, on time delivery, lead time and quality. · Ability to manage a strategic purchasing environment on a global basis for a given set of strategic commodities. Requirements for the position include strong interpersonal and problem solving skills, Bachelor’s degree in logistics or related field desired, graduate level education preferred. Demonstrated understanding of the global manufacturing process. Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills are essential. CPM preferred
