Director of Engineering

Our client, an industry leader, is currently searching for a Director of Engineering to manage the New Product Development Engineering group and R&D initiatives.  This position will report to the VP of Engineering and is a highly visible role within the organization.    

Duties for the position include, but are not limited to:

·        Organizing and qualifying project input for new product ideas

·        Reporting time and budget expenditures on a monthly basis

·        Assigning completion dates and maintain reporting structure / metrics to analyze performance

·        Project schedules

·        Facilitating communications with all support groups – intervening when required to ensure systems are working properly

·        Assisting project leaders and technical personnel to ensure they are using the latest techniques to solve engineering problems

·        Compiling monthly status report on all major projects to be incorporated into the general dept. report

·        Drive innovation and a focus on new products for the company

·        Develop and implement strategic plans

The required background would include significant experience managing engineering teams or projects.  Experience with departmental management, strategic planning, and goal setting!  A MSME, MBA or PE license a plus. Bachelor’s degree is required.
