Midwest Applications Engineer  

Our client, an industry leader, is currently searching for an Applications Engineer to join its profitable organization!  If you are an engineering professional looking for challenge and growth, this opportunity may be for you!   Please note this position is located in North Eastern Iowa.

This role will provide technical application assistance to both internal and external sales personnel and end users as well as review application details on orders and inquiries.

The successful candidate will:

 

·      Provide application, selection, technical questions and troubleshooting assistance to distributors, end users, internal sales, and external sales personnel where a high degree of expertise is required.

·      Serves as a technical liaison with other Engineering departments.

·      Assist with mechanical seal selection, application, develop new seal drawings, and other seal information as required to process customer contracts and provide information to the customers.

·      Assist in development and maintenance of a technical knowledge database that would include liquid experience database, mechanical seal database, technical white papers, and technical information as determined by customer needs.

·      Assist in preparation of published technical documents such as Technical Service Manuals, and white papers covering product and process descriptions.

·      Prepare materials and assist in conducting technical training programs, seminars or presentations to employees, distributors or end users.

·      Prepares certified performance test requests when specified on the order.  Works with customer contact and lab to review test results.

·      Monitor customer needs, changing market conditions, product deficiencies and market opportunities to make recommendations for new products.

 

Qualified individuals should:

  • Have the potential and desire to possibly move into a management position. 

  • Possess a BS Degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering or 4 year Industrial Technology Degree. 

  • 5-7 years of applicable experience preferred. 

  • Must be proficient with including Microsoft Office Applications.

  • Excellent organizational, verbal and written communication skills are required.

  • Experience with Six Sigma methods and techniques is preferred.
