Our client has had a long history of successful insurance operations since they commenced business over 150 years ago. Their assets have consistently ranked them among the world's largest life insurance companies. They have an A++ (Superior) rating from A.M. Best for financial strength and operating performance, and currently offer an opportunity to join their underwriting team in their Washington, D.C area location. They seek a Senior Life Underwriter. In the position of Senior Life Underwriter you will review life applications for preferred, standard and substandard cases. You will gather additional information from appropriate sources to determine the acceptability of risks, proper risk classification and need for facultative reinsurance. Further responsibilities include reviewing cases underwritten by lower level underwriters. To be considered, you will need to offer around five or more years of previous applicable life underwriting experience. Successful completion of industry designations such as, LOMA and ALU series a plus. This client is offering a competitive salary. Salary does depend on your experience.
