Our Property and Casualty Insurance client is an A plus rated
employee oriented company. Due to profitable growth, we are seeking
several Automobile Estimating Appraisers/Adjusters, or Material Damage
Specialists. These positions can be in either Montgomery, Alabama, or
Tifton, Georgia. Company car is provided, as well as a Home Office
set-up. Basic responsibilities and background are as follows.
Overall Purpose and Main Objectives:
Under minimum direction,
investigates, evaluates, negotiates, and settles serious or problem
material damage claims in an assigned territory. Also, directs
material damage claims to a satisfactory conclusion by supervision and
coordination of the actions of Claims personnel. Trains, consults, and
assists in development of claims representatives, appraisers, and
Material Damage Specialist I.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Acts as resident expert for all questions related to handling of
material damage claims, e.g., coverage questions and settlement
disputes.
Participates in round tabling on material damage files.
Provides assistance in training all employees.
Handles complex material damage files from beginning to end.
Oversees Direct Repair Program arrangements, i.e., ensure high
quality work by inspecting vehicles during repair process, negotiate
discounts, track volume of repairs conducted by Direct Repair Program.
Helps claims representatives interpret provisions of the Auto,
Home, Farm, Inland Marine, Watercraft, and Commercial Auto policies
and answer material damage coverage questions on specific claims.
Helps to administer reinspection program to identify training
needs of field personnel.
Participates with Material Damage Claims Manager or Material
Damage Consultant to identify and meet training needs through schools
or on-the-job training.
Investigates, evaluates, negotiates, and settles large and/or
complicated losses involving large trucks, heavy equipment, farm
equipment, and gives assistance to local claim representatives as
needed.
Assists the Material Damage Claims Manager or Material Damage
Consultant in administrating the salvage program.
Keeps abreast of developments in vehicle design and repair
methods.
Assists in the handling of complaints.
Works on special projects as assigned.
Minimum of five years experience handling material damage claims.
Handles claims in accordance with Best Practices.
