Solid opportunity with a leading international financial services company in one of their offices in MA, NH, or CT.  This client is rated A++ by A.M. Best and has a long history of success in the life/health market.  They are currently seeking an Underwriting Risk Manager for their block of group life and disability business.  This position is responsible for all aspects of risk selection, pricing, and proposal for Group Life, STD, and LTD new business and renewals for 3,000+ lives.

Underwriting Risk Manager Responsibilities

  • Review and assure conformance with general guidelines by subordinate underwriters.

  • Train and develop subordinates.

  • Become personally involved in underwriting more complex business.

  • Recommend changes in policies and procedures to be more responsive to the market or identified problem areas.

  • Provide ongoing underwriting support to the sales force.

Underwriting Risk Manager Qualifications

  • 4-6 years of large group underwriting experience.

  • Strong analytical and negotiation skills, as well as an in-depth understanding of industry contractual language and provisions.
