Our client is consistently recognized for its growth and innovation in risk management.  They are a privately held firm, ranked as a Top 100 Independent Broker by Insurance Journal, and is affiliated with many prestigious industry organizations.  Their Birmingham office is committed to the growth and perpetuation of their national construction practice. This role is a consultative marketing and risk management role for construction clients with complex insurance needs.  Specifically you will provide technical, highly organized perspective on client service, risk management, marketing, underwriting, and surety capabilities.  You'll work directly with insureds to customize unique insurance programs, and you'll communicate the implementation of those programs and coordinate necessary follow up with the agency's internal sales and marketing teams.

Account Executive Responsibilities

  • Provide a broad range of client services including, but not limited to, conducting site visits, designing insurance and risk management programs, construction of underwriting submissions, arrange for and participate in safety services, respond to client inquiries, and attend to all other issues related to client service as required

  • Conduct and lead claim reviews with the client, producer, and insurance company on a regular basis

  • Spearhead marketing efforts to prepare, plan, and deliver proposals to clients with the producer

  • Discuss and design surety options including efficiency of obtaining and managing a construction bond program

  • Provide oversight, direction, and training to a service staff and be accountable for retention and customer service standards

Commercial Account Executive Qualifications

  • Minimum 7-10 years of insurance experience as an underwriter, marketer, or risk manager with an emphasis on the management of large accounts

  • Risk managers or safety directors from the construction industry will be considered but prior insurance background is preferred

  • Knowledge of alternative risk financing programs like SIRs and captives as well as with entities unique to the construction industry like wrap ups, general contractors, large artisan contracts, project specific policies, and equipment rental yards

  • College degree with industry designations like ARM, AU or CPCU preferred
