Insurance Job Description

Our client is one of the most prominent healthcare underwriting intermediaries in the country.  They combine industry expertise with the financial resources of a national broker to access markets and develop profitable relationships in the professional liability arena.  Their range of products includes medical malpractice, large doctors group, long term care facilities and allied health.  As their market segment continues to increase they seek an experienced professional liability underwriter to oversee the organization's future program development.  In a short amount of time this position will also control IT operations, compliance, auditing, employee development, and budgeting considerations.

As Senior Underwriter, Manager

  • Your primary responsibility will be to manage and direct agency operations particularly acting as an underwriting officer for binding authority program business

  • You'll distribute and update program related information including underwriting rates, forms and filings

  • You'll act as both underwriter and program consultant with respect to underwriting, coverage, pricing, marketing and binding 

Senior Underwriter Qualifications

  • 7-10 years underwriting and management background with an insurance company, wholesale broker or both

  • Experience developing programs, working with E&S products, and maximizing binding authority business with significant retail agencies

  • Demonstrated ability to perform effectively in a supervisory role

  • Significant exposure to the professional liability insurance industry with highly desired candidates knowledgeable in the healthcare industry

  • Industry endorsements like CIC, CPCU or RPLU preferred
