Material Damage Claims Manager Insurance Job

Our client has a long and successful history of providing quality insurance products that dates back over 50 years. Today, they are among the top 50 Property and Casualty Insurance companies in the country and rank as one of the largest writers of non-standard automobile insurance through independent insurance agents. They presently offer an opportunity to join their organization as a Material Damage Claims Manager in their Birmingham, AL office. In this role you will manage assigned staff, independent appraisers, and Direct Auto Program/Direct Repair Program.

Material Damage Claims Manager Responsibilities:

• Extend settlement authority to those assigned to the unit using company guidelines.

• Review and approve payment of all expense bills and payments which exceed authority levels of direct report.

• Monitor appraisals and re-inspections performed by both independent and staff adjusters, making determinations of accuracy, timeliness and overall quality.

• Perform periodic audits to determine effective quantitative and qualitative performance in all areas of responsibility.  

• Ensure that responsiveness is maintained in all areas of responsibility.

Material Damage Claims Manager Qualifications:

• Minimum of three (3) years experience with automobile physical damage estimating and/or repair and experience with total loss evaluation and salvage handling. 

• Prior supervisor or management experience of around three (3) to five (5) years.

• Good analytical skills necessary to evaluate production staffing requirements, and to problem solve and make decisions. 

• Familiarity with computer estimating system(s) and auto construction and repair techniques.
